Cranberry PACs
Cochrane review, 50 RCTs1
In women with recurrent UTI, cranberry products probably reduce symptomatic, culture-verified UTI (RR 0.74, 95% CI 0.55–0.99).
D-Mannose
RCT, 308 women2
2 g/day for 6 months: recurrence 14.6% vs 60.8% with no prophylaxis, comparable to nitrofurantoin 50 mg (20.4%). UroRAIN provides 1 g/day.
L. crispatus
Phase 2 RCT, 100 women3
Intravaginal L. crispatus: recurrent UTI 15% vs 27% on placebo (RR 0.5, 95% CI 0.2–1.2). UroRAIN delivers L. crispatus orally.
Vaginal flora
RCT, 64 women4
Oral L. rhamnosus GR-1 + L. fermentum RC-14 for 60 days restored a lactobacilli-dominant flora in 37% vs 13% on placebo.
Bacterial vaginosis
Double-blind RCT, 544 women5
Oral L. rhamnosus GR-1 + L. reuteri RC-14 for 6 weeks: balanced microbiota in 61.5% vs 26.9% on placebo.
Vulvovaginal candidiasis
Cochrane review, 10 RCTs6
As an adjunct to antifungals, probiotics increased short-term clinical cure (RR 1.14) and reduced one-month relapse (RR 0.34). Evidence quality low.
A note on the evidence. Probiotic effects are strain-specific, and the data above relate to individual ingredients. UroRAIN as a combination has not yet been evaluated in a clinical trial. It is best positioned as daily support alongside, not instead of, standard treatment.
